Prof. Dr. Wei Xiang

La Trobe University, Australia

Professor Wei Xiang is Cisco Research Chair of AI and IoT, Director & Chief Scientist of the Australian Centre for AI and Medical Innovation, and Director of the Cisco-La Trobe Centre for AI and IoT at La Trobe University. Previously, he was Foundation Chair and Head of Discipline of IoT Engineering at James Cook University, Cairns, Australia. Due to his instrumental leadership in establishing Australia’s first accredited Internet of Things Engineering degree program, he was inducted into Pearcy Foundation’s Hall of Fame in October 2018. He is a TEDx speaker and an elected Fellow of the IET in UK and Engineers Australia. He received the TNQ Innovation Award in 2016, and Pearcey Entrepreneurship Award in 2017, and Engineers Australia Cairns Engineer of the Year in 2017. He was a co-recipient of four Best Paper Awards at WiSATS’2019, WCSP’2015, IEEE WCNC’2011, and ICWMC’2009. He has been awarded several prestigious fellowship titles. He was named a Queensland International Fellow (2010-2011) by the Queensland Government of Australia, an Endeavour Research Fellow (2012-2013) by the Commonwealth Government of Australia, a Smart Futures Fellow (2012-2015) by the Queensland Government of Australia, and a JSPS Invitational Fellow jointly by the Australian Academy of Science and Japanese Society for Promotion of Science (2014-2015). He was the Vice Chair of the IEEE Northern Australia Section from 2016-2020. He is currently an Associate Editor for IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, IEEE Internet of Things Journal, IEEE Access, and Nature journal of Scientific Reports. He has published over 450 peer-reviewed papers including 3 books and nearly 300 journal articles. He has severed in a large number of international conferences in the capacity of General Co-Chair, TPC Co-Chair, Symposium Chair, etc. His research interest includes the Internet of Things, wireless communications, machine learning for IoT data analytics, and computer vision.

Prof. Dr. Mukesh Prasad

University of Technology Sydney, Australia

Dr Mukesh Prasad is an Associate Professor in the School of Computer Science, Faculty of Engineering and IT at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). He has made significant contributions to the fields of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, and Natural Language Processing.

His research interests also span several emerging areas, including Big Data, Computer Vision, Brain-Computer Interfaces, Evolutionary Computation, and the Internet of Things (IoT). These technologies are shaping next-generation applications across diverse sectors such as healthcare, biomedical science, agriculture, smart cities, education, marketing, and finance. He has authored more than 200 peer-reviewed research papers in leading journals and conferences, including publications in high-impact venues such as IEEE, ACM Transactions, Springer Nature and Elsevier.

His academic achievements are complemented by strong industry experience. He served as Principal Engineer at Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) from 2016–2017, where he developed advanced image processing and pattern recognition algorithms using machine learning. He was a postdoctoral researcher leading a Big Data and computer vision team at National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan (2015).

Prof. Dr. Maria Pia Fanti

Polytechnic University of Bari, Italy

Maria Pia Fanti is full professor of System and Control Engineering at the Department of Electrical and Information Engineering of the Polytechnic of Bari (Italy).

She received the Laurea degree in Electronic Engineering from the University of Pisa (Italy), in 1983. She was a visiting researcher at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of Troy, New York, in 1999. Since 1983 she has been with the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of the Polytechnic of Bari (Italy), where she was Assistant Professor from 1990 till 1998 and Associate Professor from 1990 till April 2012.

Maria Pia Fanti is IEEE fellow for contributions to modeling and control of discrete event systems. Her research interests include Discrete event systems, Petri net, consensus algorithms, networked and control systems, management and modeling of logistic systems, automated manufacturing systems, automatic guided vehicle systems, traffic networks, and healthcare systems.

Prof. Dr. Fadi Al-Turjman

Near East University, Nicosia, Turkey

Prof. Dr. Fadi Al-Turjman received his Ph.D. in computer science from Queen’s University, Canada, in 2011. He is the “advisor to the chairman of the board of trustees on AI and informatics” at Near East University, Nicosia, Cyprus, and the “associate dean for research” at the faculty of engineering in the same university. Prof. Al-Turjman is the head of Artificial Intelligence Engineering Dept., and a leading authority in the areas of smart/intelligent IoT systems, wireless, and mobile networks’ architectures, protocols, deployments, and performance evaluation in Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT). He is the founding director of the International Research Center for AI and IoT and the AI and Robotics Institute at Near East University. His publication history spans over 500 SCI/E publications, in addition to numerous keynotes and plenary talks at flagship venues. He has authored and edited more than 50 books about cognition, security, and wireless sensor networks’ deployments in smart IoT environments, which have been published by well-reputed publishers such as Taylor and Francis, Elsevier, IET, and Springer. He has received several recognitions and best research awards at key international venues. Prof. Al-Turjman has led a number of international conferences and workshops in flagship AI and IoT societies. Currently, he serves as book series editor and the lead guest/associate editor for several top tier journals, including the IEEE Communications Surveys and Tutorials (IF 23.9) and the Elsevier Sustainable Cities and Society (IF 10.8), in addition to organizing international conferences and symposiums on the most up to date research topics in AI and IoT.

Prof. Dr. Filippo Sanfilippo

University of Agder (UiA), Norway

Filippo Sanfilippo holds a PhD in Engineering Cybernetics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway, with a focus on alternative and flexible control approaches for robotic manipulators. His research interests include robotics, wearables, software engineering, human-robot collaboration, artificial intelligence and control theory. He is currently appointed as a Professor at the Department of Engineering Sciences, Faculty of Engineering and Science, University of Agder (UiA), Grimstad, Norway.

He carries a vast experience in participating to European research programs and various national projects from the Research Council of Norway (RCN). He is an IEEE Senior Member. He is currently the Chair of the IEEE Norway Section. He is also the Chair of the IEEE Robotics and Automation, Control Systems and Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Chapter. He is also the treasurer of the Norsk Forening for Kunstig Intelligens (NAIS), the Norwegian Association for Artificial Intelligence. He has authored and co-authored several technical papers in various journals and conferences. He is a reviewer for several international conferences and journals.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Khan Afthab Ahamed Khan

UCSI University, Malaysia

Dr. Mohamed Khan Afthab Ahamed Khan was born in Tamil Nadu, India during the year 1961. He won the best student award for his excellence in academic and also in sports during his Higher secondary level. He also won the gold medal both in Mathmetics and Physics during his Pre-University at state level. He received his BE degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Madras University, India, and MS degree in Electronics and Control engineering from BITS Pilani, India, He received his advanced diploma in Power electronics and drives from Lucas-Nuelle, Germany in 2002 and from Woo sun, Korea. He obtained his PhD in Robotics, Power electronics and controls from USA and holds his Professional Engineer [PEng] Certification from IAO, USA and CEng (UK). He is also a Senior member in IEEE USA and MIET UK. He worked with Rohde and Schwarz, Germany as Sales and service engineer from 1983-1987 and served as a Senior lecturer in the faculty of engineering at the Madras university for seven years and has been with the faculty of Electronics Engineering, TAFE Australia, Malaysia campus during the year 1994 to 1997. He served as a Program coordinator for Malaysia France University Nice, France between 1997 to 2006. He has been a consultant and trainer for multinational companies like Schneider electric, France, Vivendi Water supplies, France, and many Malaysian and Singapore companies. Also, he worked as an Assistant professor at UNISEL, Malaysia from 2006 to 2017. Currently he is working as an Assistant Professor in the faculty of engineering at UCSI University, Malaysia. He held various positions in IEEE RAS Malaysia chapter and had won more than 15 awards awarded by IEEE Malaysia section. He is the past Chairman for IEEERAS, Malaysia chapter and current IEEE UCSI Student branch counselor. His current research is in Power Electronics, Motor drives, Robotic and Controls. Along with many awards and more than 100 papers or research notes published in journals and conference proceedings, he has travelled more than 25 countries and has visited the top universities like MIT, Stanford, OXFORD, Caltech, Cambridge, Berkley, Imperial and served as a Reviewer and Session Chairman for several conferences and project competitions.
